Debt Management for Non-listed Real Estate Funds 

This INREV advanced course will outline issues related to debt management in non-listed real estate funds. It will outline why debt is used, how funds can be financed and the consequences of employing debt. It will examine recent issues arising from debt use such as covenant breaches and the impact this may have on day-to-day cash management. More importantly, the course will address the potential solutions for these problems and lessons for due diligence and structuring for the future. The course will bring in the practicalities of today’s market to examine and understand the issues from both the investor and fund manager perspective.

The course will cover the following topics:

• The benefits and consequences of using debt in non-listed real estate funds;
• Financing approaches for existing and future funds;
• Debt agreements now and going forward;
• The potential impact of covenant breaches on non-listed real estate funds;
• The pros and cons of different solutions to debt problems;
• Due diligence and debt structuring lessons for the future.

The course will be given by leading industry experts with an emphasis on group discussions and case studies to allow participants to share their views.

The course is aimed at experienced professionals with several years of practice within the non-listed real estate funds industry. This could be attendees who wish to improve their knowledge of debt management, understand the practical applications and those who want a better understanding of the issues around debt in non-listed real estate funds.
