Niam acquires Brunswick Real Estate’s debt business

Northern Europe real assets manager Niam has acquired Brunswick Real Estate’s debt arm, a business which manages €2.5 billion of assets.

Niam has invested an undisclosed amount to buy Brunswick Real Estate Capital and will rename it as Niam Credit, led by CEO Pontus Sundin.

Brunswick Real Estate Capital, established in 2013, provide alternative credit solutions for the commercial real estate sector in the Nordics. The company has three credit funds with a combined asset under management in excess of €2.5 billion.

Jennifer Andersson, managing partner at Niam, said: “Over the years, we have gradually diversified our fund portfolio with strategies covering different property segments and risk profiles. In 2021 we launched an infrastructure platform focusing on sustainable investments in renewable energy, transport and telecom.

“Credit is a natural next step for us and complements our existing business. With the acquisition of Brunswick Real Estate Capital, we broaden our offering further and become an even more attractive partner for institutional investors.”
