Termination now usually means liquidation
Over the next two years 72 closed end funds are due to terminate, effectively putting €11 billion of net assets onto the market.
But what will happen to these funds when they terminate? In this year’s INREV Fund Termination Study, the eleventh we have undertaken, the answer is pretty clear: for managers that have made their decision, a big majority of funds (72%) will be liquidated, with the rest either extending or rolling over.
