European elections open up new opportunities

Here in Brussels, the major topic of conversation during the last few months has been the European elections. The vote for the new European Parliament that was held throughout the EU from 22-25 May ushered in a new power structure in Brussels. Besides a new European Parliament, the elections also resulted in new political leadership of the European Commission including a new President. These new policy makers will exercise control of European institutions until 2019.
