Arvy Jadevicius

Research Analyst

IQ speaks to Arvy Jadevicius, who joined INREV last year in the role of Research Analyst

With real estate gaining in popularity among investors and the non-listed sector taking a greater role within the institutional portfolio, the position at INREV was a great opportunity for me,” he explains. ‘So I left my academic career to help to shape a dynamic organisation in a rapidly growing industry.’

Arvy spends most of his time working on the INREV research evergreens, such as the annual Investment Intentions Survey, Capital Raising Survey and Fund Manager Survey, as well as the Fund of Funds and Fund Terminations reports, for which he has regular engagement with INREV members.

I left my academic career to help to shape a dynamic organisation in a rapidly growing industry.

He finds the Investment Intentions Survey work particularly interesting, and is looking forward to the highlights being presented at the Investment Intentions Roadshow next January. ‘Although it’s a blockbuster that demands a lot of blood, sweat and tears,’ he says, ‘it’s very fulfilling. One reason is because it’s a collaborative project between INREV, ANREV in Asia Pacific and PREA in the US, meaning that I need to interact with colleagues in those regions. Many members will know me from my many emails and calls requesting their participation in the study. I apologise for my persistence, but hopefully they agree the end product justifies the effort.’

Arvy also carries out inhouse research, as well as overseeing externally outsourced research projects. At the moment he’s working on a paper on persistent performance – a topic we covered last year and are moving forwards to provide further insights.

‘I hope that members appreciate the academic rigour that I bring to my work, which stems from my doctoral work on UK commercial property forecasting at Edinburgh University and subsequent teaching role at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. I believe that my quantitative skills can help improve INREV’s research, both in terms of the quality of analysis and the speed of delivery of the end product.’
