Claudia Kapp, Director of Member Relations

IQ recently caught up with Claudia Kapp, Director of Member Relations – our well-known contact person for all of our 460 member organisations. Claudia is responsible for the membership application process, ensuring that potential members are well informed of the benefits to being part of the INREV community. And, once membership is confirmed, Claudia remains the point of contact. She regularly catches up with them to make sure INREV’s suite of products and services remain relevant so that being a member of INREV continues to serve its purpose.

One exciting new project that some members may be aware of is the upcoming re-launch of the membership directory. The membership directory is where all INREV  member organisations are listed and includes the contact details of individual representatives who wish to share their details with the INREV Community. The re-launch provides a brand new set of features for member organisations including a bespoke ‘about us’ paragraph enabling each organisation to share a few lines on what their business is and the services it offers.

‘Members have had a tough time over the last period, lack of face-to face opportunities has meant networking has been harder than ever and this is admittedly where most business takes place so we wanted to make it easier for members to find each other and also be found – to show what they are doing and if there are any potential business matches within the membership community by listing their area of expertise and geographic focus’, tells Claudia.

The re-launch will include a brand new set of features including a bespoke ‘about us’ paragraph enabling members to share a few lines on what their business is and the services it offers

The project is underway and all main reps responsible for their company membership are being contacted to complete their profile in a couple of easy steps ready for the relaunch in a couple of months.

‘Our members are really what makes INREV the organisation that it is’ adds Claudia ‘All of the information, insights, market information, research – you name it, is the result of member participation and collaboration – I see INREV as the vehicle for ensuring this information is shared appropriately among the community to continue advancing best practice, transparency and the overall professionalisation of the asset class’, she continues.

While members can apply to join a committee all year round, we are currently receiving applications for the 2022 Committee rotation  and I urge members to apply now if they would like to play an active role in shaping the non-listed real estate industry

A direct result of this participation are the 11 Committees focused on the key areas of importance ranging from Research to Tax to the recently formed Young Professionals Committee. ‘While members can apply to join a committee all year round, we are currently receiving applications for the 2022 Committee rotation and I urge members to apply now if they would like to play an active role in shaping the non-listed real estate industry. It is definitely a commitment, but it is worth while and some members recently shared some thoughts on what it entails’ tells Claudia.

Commenting on the gradual return back to some sort of normality, Claudia proudly announces that the first in-person event will return in New York this Autumn in a hybrid format with the North American Seminar. ‘Although online technologies have enabled us to continue meeting and engaging in some sort of fashion over the last 18 months, it will be really nice to have a real face to face discussion and a good cup of coffee together – I am sure there is a lot to catch up on!’.

The North American Seminar will be held on 30 September at the New York Athletic Club and will be live streamed to those who cannot make it in person but would still like to participate in a ‘hybrid’ format .
