Trends in Investor Reporting aims to provide insight into current market practices in investor reporting across non-listed real estate vehicles investing in Europe, and specifically the extent to which reporting complies with the requirements and recommendations of the INREV Guidelines.

Susan van de Koppel-Nagelmaeker, Portfoliomanager at Amvest, presented De Trappenberg – Living and Care Fund: a case study of developing sustainable and impactful senior housing. Susan was followed by Anna Olink, Director, Real Estate Engagement – EMEA at GRESB, who provided insights into 2024 GRESB Annual Survey results on investment in senior housing.
The briefing, held in collaboration with EPRA, was part of European Retirement Week, a flagship platform to debate the future of pensions.

In response to the European Commission targeted consultation on macroprudential policies for non-bank financial intermediaries INREV highlighted the nuances of the LMTs usage to manage redemptions, supported the diversification of CRE debt sources and stressed the importance of better data in policy making. 

abrdn's AIPUT faced challenges in meeting the UK’s Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements for its Heathrow developments. The solution involved creating a biodiversity bank on a 30-hectare greenfield site. This area, initially agricultural land, was converted into a habitat, generating BNG credits for use in the fund's developments. The project also contributed to carbon offsetting and community rewilding. Although market conditions led to a shift away from the BNG proposals, the model showed potential for future biodiversity and carbon credit initiatives within abrdn’s wider portfolio.

The consolidated text of AIFMD Level 1 and 2, as amended by the AIFMD II and other EU legislation prepared by A&O Shearman includes changes from the Securitisation Regulation, Cross Border Funds Directive and SFDR.

Amendments introduced by AIFMD II at Level 1 are highlighted in green (for additions) and red (for deletions), thus precisely indicating AIFMD II's impact and providing a steer for practitioners to navigate the text. Level 2 AIFMD and other Level 2 applicable EU legislation are included in textboxes or are annexed as exhibits.
