Since 2012, the Standard Data Delivery Sheet (SDDS) has set the standard for consistent, transparent data exchange between investment managers and investors. By providing a standardised reporting format, the SDDS reduces duplication, enhances comparability, and builds efficiency across the non-listed real estate investment industry.
The latest version, SDDS 4.0, ensures the framework remains aligned with evolving INREV Guidelines and global terminology, while responding to changing investor expectations. The update introduced a new asset-level data sheet, offering greater reporting depth and clarity. The revision also refines existing sections, including:
- Step 1: Key Vehicle Terms
- Step 2: Vehicle Level Data
- Step 3: Investor Level Data
- Step 4: Asset Level Data – newly included in version 4.0
- Step 5: Portfolio Allocation
To support implementation, the SDDS package includes a change log and user manual with step-by-step configuration instructions.
Complementing the SDDS, the ESG SDDS provides a dedicated template for ESG Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), enabling consistent, structured sustainability reporting.
Looking ahead, a new wiring guide will be introduced in November for both the SDDS and ESG SDDS. It will explain how to interpret and apply each indicator, helping the templates evolve into a unified reporting language for the industry. Sign up below to be the first to know when it’s released!
Together, the SDDS, ESG SDDS, and the upcoming wiring guide mark a major step toward greater efficiency, transparency, and digital integration in real estate investment reporting.
