Capital growth drives strong Spezialfonds performance in 2021

Spezialfonds posted a 2021 annual total return of 7.0%, up from 5.9% in 2020. The improved result was driven by a robust capital growth of 3.9%.    

Key highlights of the INREV Annual German Vehicles Index:

  • The INREV Annual German Vehicles Index posted a 2021 annual total return of 4.2%, up from 3.7% recorded in 2020
  • At 2.2%, the performance of Publikumsfonds remained relatively stable in 2021, albeit slightly down from the 2.3% recorded in 2020
  • Germany focused strategy vehicles remained the best performer across all regional strategies,  while global strategy funds showed the biggest year-on-year improvement in performance 
  • Despite a dip in annual total return of 38 bps, residential focused funds continue to outperform all other single sector strategies (11.1%), closely followed by industrial / logistic focused vehicles (10.4%)
