Berlin-based Catella Investment Management GmbH (CIM) has acquired two residential development projects in the Liesel Quartier in Göttingen. The acquisition was made on behalf of an individual client. The seller is WERTGRUND Wohnpartner GmbH, a joint venture between Wertgrund Immobilien AG and Bautra GmbH. Wertgrund Wohnpartner is also acting as the project developer of the new neighbourhood.
The Liesel Quartier is being developed on the former Gothaer Versicherung site in the southern part of Göttingen at Wörthstraße / Breslauer Straße. Around 570 apartments with a total living space of 44,000 square metres will be constructed in several phases on a site covering around 37,000 square metres. Around 40% of the apartments will be subsidized, offered at reduced rates or rent-controlled. Construction will start in December 2025, with completion scheduled for 2027.
CIM has acquired buildings H40 and H50 on the southern part of the construction site. They comprise a total of 118 privately financed apartments ranging in size from 41 to 86 square metres, with a total rental area of 7,810 square metres. For the most part, the flats have a loggia or a terrace, parquet flooring with underfloor heating, and high-quality fixtures and finishes. In addition, a daycare centre with around 1,100 square metres of usable space is being built in building H40. Swiss architect Max Dudler is responsible for the design.
