Macquarie Asset Management has appointed Alex James to lead product development, capital raising and client coverage in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for its global activities in the real estate sector.
Alex joins as a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate, Client Solutions Group EMEA to lead a team of specialists focused on Macquarie Asset Management’s global real estate product suite – ranging from opportunistic strategies, that involve partnering with specialist operators to invest in real estate designed for tomorrow’s world, to core and core plus real estate.
Prior to joining Macquarie Asset Management, Alex was Head of Capital Markets at Round Hill Capital and before that Managing Director at Hines. He started his real estate career at Lehman Brothers and is a former Royal Navy officer.
Macquarie Asset Management’s real estate business draws on the strength of a global specialist asset manager with GBP403 billion assets under management and brings more than 35 years’ experience in real estate funds management and investment in specialist real estate operators.
