PATRIZIA, an investment manager in real assets, and Fabrix, a London-based real estate developer, have launched a joint venture, Sustainable Communities London (SC London) with over GBP 100 million of investment firepower to tackle the capital’s acute housing shortages.
Starting with an initial equity commitment of GBP 45 million of client capital managed by PATRIZIA, the platform will deliver sustainable, affordable and alternative housing solutions in London by repurposing underused urban land and buildings. The JV’s first scheme in Elephant & Castle is already under way, and future projects will expand the JV’s mission to build a platform of residential assets that deliver strong social outcomes and long-term value.
This investment marks a major milestone in the expansion of PATRIZIA Sustainable Communities, a platform dedicated to tackling housing shortages and social inequality through impact-driven real estate investment. With successful developments across Ireland, the UK, Belgium and Spain, the platform is focused on delivering long-term social and environmental value by transforming underutilised spaces into high-quality, affordable homes.
Through this joint venture, PATRIZIA and Fabrix will bring their expertise together to tackle one of London’s most pressing challenges: the severe shortage of affordable and alternative housing.
