Stoneweg, the alternative investment platform, has appointed Geert van den Boomen as Director Transactions, Netherlands.

In his new role, Geert will be responsible for Stoneweg’s continued growth ambitions in the Netherlands and leading transaction activities in the Dutch market, where the firm currently has c. €800 million AUM and is targeting further growth across multiple sectors, with a focus on logistics, industrial and offices.

Geert brings more than 13 years of real estate investment and asset management experience in the Netherlands and other European markets. Since joining the platform in 2013 at Valad Europe, which is now part of Stoneweg following the Cromwell acquisition in 2024, he has held a series of progressively senior roles across asset management, investment management and pan-European transactions.

Most recently, as Transaction Manager, Europe, Geert was responsible for sourcing and managing acquisitions and disposals across office and logistics portfolios throughout Europe and the UK. Within this role, he has been involved in more than €1.5 billion of transactions, working with institutional investors, private equity clients and listed funds. Prior to this, as Investment Manager, Benelux, he acquired approximately €2 billion of office and industrial assets in the Netherlands and played a key role in the launch of Cromwell’s Singapore-listed REIT, CEREIT, which is now known as Stoneweg European REIT (SERT).

Mark McLaughlin, CEO, Real Assets at Stoneweg, said: “This appointment reflects the depth of talent within our platform and our continued commitment to growing our presence in the Netherlands. Geert’s extensive transactional expertise and deep local market knowledge has enabled him to build a strong track record of executing on complex pan-European transactions over many years, which will be vital as we continue to expand our activities and assets under management in the Netherlands.”

Geert van den Boomen added: “Having been part of the platform for more than a decade, I look forward to continuing to work closely with our clients, partners and colleagues in this new role to grow our Dutch portfolio and capitalise on the attractive opportunities we see across the Netherlands.”
