Earlier this month, the INREV Young Professionals Mentorship Programme welcomed its newest cohort to Copenhagen, marking the start of the programme’s fifth edition.
Over 1.5 days, 66 mentees and 22 mentors gathered at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel to begin a year-long journey focused on professional development, peer learning and industry connections. The kick-off event provided an opportunity for participants to meet their mentoring groups, share their ambitions for the year ahead and start building relationships that will continue throughout the programme.
The kickoff on 2 July began with a programme introduction, followed by the official launch of the 2026–2027 mentorship programme led by two executive leadership coaches: Ernst Dekker and Tica Peeman. The evening concluded with a group dinner, giving mentors and mentees the chance to get to know each other in a more informal setting.

Day two began with an optional group run and strength class in the morning, before participants reconvened to define their goals with their mentors for the year ahead. The afternoon included the first group meetings where agreements were made on progress and scheduled meetings for the year ahead, as well as the first action points for over the summer.
Now in its fifth year, the mentorship programme continues to be an important part of the INREV Academy, supporting young professionals as they develop key skills, expand their networks and gain insights from senior leaders across the non-listed real estate industry.
A special thank you goes to the programme’s 22 mentors, whose commitment and willingness to share their experience make the initiative possible.
We look forward to following the cohort's progress over the coming year and reconnecting with participants at INREV Academy Day in Amsterdam on 12 November.
