Capital raising activity in 2022 reached at least €246 billion of capital raised for non-listed real estate investment globally, the second-highest result since the study’s inception in 2015, according to the ANREV / INREV / NCREIF Capital Raising Survey 2023.
Key highlights include:
- Asian Pacific investors took the lead as the main source of capital globally
- Capital raised in 2022 decreased for all three regions – Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America. However, it reached a record high for global strategies.
- Non-listed real estate funds remain the most favoured route, with more than 55% of the total global capital raised in 2022
- Core strategies attract most capital in European non-listed real estate equity and debt space
