US privately-held developer-investor Hines has announced the appointment of Lorenzo Peñalver as investment director in Spain.
Peñalver has 16 years of experience in operations and financial management in the real estate sector. He joins Hines from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was senior transaction manager in Spain and Portugal, and Asset Manager for part of its real estate portfolio spanning logistics, office and hotel assets in Spain, and retail properties in Portugal.
He also has a wealth of broader real estate experience having worked for a number of companies in the sector in Spain and across wider Europe, including AXA Real Estate, Banco Santander, KPMG and Dunas Capital. During this time, he has honed his expertise in design and implementation of investment strategies, search, analysis and execution of real estate investments and asset management.
At Hines Spain, Lorenzo will be responsible for spearheading the analysis and evaluation of new investment opportunities in the country, covering all asset classes with a focus on Madrid and Barcelona, as well as other Spanish benchmark cities for logistics and residential.
