In this week’s Data Spotlight, we turn to the essential data toolkit – taking another look at the Global Definitions Database (GDD), which is still the most visited area of the INREV website, with nearly 30,000 active users in 2025.
Housing more than 1,200 definitions, the GDD remains the industry’s reference point for shared terminology and consistent interpretation across reporting, analysis and decision making. A refreshed version of the tool is planned for release this summer, bringing improvements designed to make navigation even easier.
Usage insights show how widely the tool is relied upon:
- The GDD contains 1,233 definitions, supporting alignment across reporting, performance measurement and regulatory requirements
- The most frequently accessed definitions include Net Initial Yield (NIY), Attachment Point LTV, Catch-up, Net equivalent yield and Reversionary yield
- A redesigned version of the GDD is planned for July 2026, with improvements to searchability, navigation and load speed
Visit the Global Definitions Database to explore the industry’s most comprehensive library of definitions.
