Learning goals

This intensive one-day course, led by Hugo Monster, Head of Direct Real Estate Operations at UBS Asset Management, provides a practical and comprehensive overview of key reporting requirements under the INREV Guidelines.

Designed with a strong focus on real-world application, the course explores how to effectively implement best practices in both annual and interim reporting. Participants will gain a clear understanding of property valuations cycles, INREV NAV, the INREV fee and expense metrics, as well as performance measurement ratios and reporting.

In addition, the course discusses essential reporting tools such as the INREV Standard Data Delivery Sheet (SDDS) and ESG SDDS, highlighting their role in improving reporting quality. 

The course will cover the following topics:

  • INREV Guidelines – scope and compliance
  • The role of property valuations
  • INREV’s NAV principles
  • The role of INREV's fee and expense metrics
  • Performance measurement ratios
  • Reporting best practices, including the INREV Reporting Guidelines and INREV SDDS.
  • A standardised approach to sustainability reporting including the ESG SDDS

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose, structure, and practical application of the INREV Guidelines for annual and interim reporting.
  • Apply the INREV framework to prepare and assess reports and related disclosures.
  • Interpret core modules such as property valuations, INREV NAV, performance metrics, and fee and expense reporting.
  • Use key reporting tools, including the INREV SDDS and ESG SDDS, to improve data quality and consistency.
Target Audience

This course is designed for professionals involved in the preparation, review, or analysis of real estate vehicle reporting. It is particularly relevant for investors, investment managers, service providers, and advisors or auditors who play a key role in delivering or interpreting reporting outputs.

Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of reporting requirements and are looking to strengthen their practical knowledge and application of the INREV Guidelines in day-to-day reporting processes.

Prerequisite eLearning modules

Prior to attending the INREV Fund Valuation and Reporting course, participants are required to complete two one-hour eLearning modules: an introduction to the INREV Reporting Guidelines and a module on INREV NAV.

These modules provide essential foundational knowledge, ensuring all participants start the classroom training with a consistent level of understanding and are able to fully benefit from the course.

NoteAccess to the eLearning modules is included at no additional cost.

This course is open to INREV members and non-members and counts towards the INREV Academy Certificate for Non-listed Real Estate Investments. It is a mandatory course for the Corporate Finance stream and an elective course for the Portfolio Management stream.
