Using AI to optimise capital allocation and decarbonisation

Wüest Partner applied its AI-driven Optimizer Technology to help a Swiss pension foundation revise the capital allocation strategy for a 35-property real estate portfolio. The technology simulated thousands of investment and refurbishment scenarios, balancing financial performance, CO₂ reduction targets, capex limits and time horizon. The optimised portfolio achieved a 19% reduction in cumulative CO₂ emissions, an 8% increase in portfolio value and a 3% reduction in required investment volume.
