The INREV European ODCE Index performance improves, but still in the negative

The Q1 2023 European ODCE Index’s reported a 362 bps quarter-on-quarter improvement, but performance is still in the negative, with –1.89%

Key highlights:

  • The Q1 2023 total return stood at –1.89%. This is the first time since Q1 2022 that the returns of the index improved quarter-on-quarter.
  • At the end of Q1 2023, the gross asset value (GAV) of the index reached €43.9 billion across the 16 participating funds at the end of Q1 2023, a €0.8 billion lower than a quarterl earlier.
  • Share of the office sector has been on a decline for eleven consecutive quarters. Now at 37.4% of the GAV of the index, it is still the largest.

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
