Performance gap narrows between Publikumsfonds and Spezialfonds in 2020

The performance gap between Publikumsfonds and Spezialfonds narrowed to 270 bps in 2020 as the performance of Spezialfonds eased.
 

Key highlights of the INREV German Vehicles Annual Index:

  • The index posted a 2020 annual total return of 4.2%, down from 5.0% recorded in 2019
  • The performance of Spezialfonds eased in 2020, posting an annual total return of 5.9% down from 8.0% in 2019, while Publikumfonds’ performance remained steady at 3.2%
  • Despite showing a 160 bps decline in an annual total return, Germany-only strategy vehicles remained the best performer across all regional strategies
  • Residential and Industrial / Logistic focused vehicles posted their strongest performances to date displaying 2020 total annual returns of 11.8% and 9.7% respectively
