Lonneke Löwik to step down as INREV CEO

26 March 2024, Amsterdam – INREV has today announced that CEO, Lonneke Löwik, will be stepping down this August.

During her six plus years at the helm, Löwik has driven the expansion of INREV, growing its membership base by 23%, now encompassing over 125 institutional investors, and evolving the scale, quality and scope of its services. She pioneered the integration of data and research providing members with better quality and more granular analysis capabilities. Löwik has also driven the revision and adoption of INREV Guidelines and embedded ESG across all areas of INREV’s operations, incremental to working closely with partner associations, ANREV in Asia Pacific, and PREA and NCREIF in North America.

Löwik was appointed as INREV CEO in 2017, from her previous role as Head of Operations at GRESB. Between 2009 and 2014, she also held two other senior positions within INREV as Director of Professional Standards and Director of Research and Market Information.

The INREV Management Board has instructed international search firm, Egon Zhender, to begin the process of finding a suitable replacement for Löwik. This process is expected to last for several months, but Löwik will remain in post until her departure.

Commenting on the announcement, Martin Lemke, INREV Chairman, said: ‘Lonneke has made a monumental contribution to INREV. With a combination of vision, energy and good humour she has steered the association through some challenging times, whilst continuing to improve the breadth and quality of services for members. Her contribution to diversity and inclusion stands out with the INREV team being a role model for the industry. Beyond INREV, she has played a key role in guiding the wider industry to new heights – especially in terms of global standards and transparency. Lonneke has given us all so much to be thankful for and we shall miss her greatly when she leaves in the summer. At that point, we will wish her well for her future endeavours. In the meantime, we’re delighted that Lonneke will continue to lead INREV with the verve and skill for which she is renowned.’
