European residential investor Rockfield has announced two promotions amidst its continued expansion across Europe.
Mats Bartels has been promoted to investment director Northern Europe, and Josep Franch Bellmunt is now senior investment director Southern Europe.
Bartels, who joined in 2021, has been crucial in growing the Northern European portfolio by over 3,000 units and spearheading Rockfield's entry into the French and German markets.
Bellmunt has been vital in establishing Rockfield's presence in Southern Europe, particularly in Spain and Italy, leading initial investments, launching the European fund in 2024, and expanding the portfolio by over 1,500 units. He will also join Rockfield's Investment Committee in 2026.
Rockfield raised over €1 billion in new equity in 2025, expanding its portfolio to over 10,000 units, and increasing its total assets under management to approximately €3 billion.
The company plans to launch new European investment strategies in 2026, further solidifying its position as a pan-European specialist in the living sector. Rockfield will continue to invest across various residential sub-sectors, including regular residential, flex living, student housing, and senior housing, covering a full range of risk profiles from Core to Opportunistic.
