Last month, the INREV Portfolio Construction course brought together industry experts and young professionals for an insightful day of learning and discussion in London. Hosted at the Hines office, the course explored how investors construct and develop their real estate portfolios in the face of shifting market cycles and evolving investor priorities.
Led by Matthew Ryall, the programme combined strategic perspectives with practical examples, supported by a strong faculty of speakers:
- Andrew Angeli from Zurich Insurance, on market cycles and strategy
- Nick Colley from CBRE Investment Management, on multi‑asset portfolio allocation
- Maarten van der Spek, Founder of Spek Advisory, on the benefits and risks of leverage
- Charlotte Robinson from APG Asset Management, who guided participants through a case study example of APG’s portfolio
- Edd Azzopardi from UBS Unified Global Alternatives on techniques for sourcing and selecting funds and managers
The course kicked off with a group dinner at Caravan Covent Garden the night before, offering participants the chance to network and build connections in an informal setting.
A special thank you to Hines for hosting the course at their London office.
