Description

INREV ESG Essentials

, Online

ESG is integral to every aspect of responsible and sustainable non-listed real estate investing. It guides investment decision-making as the industry addresses its responsibilities to tackle climate change in the built environment, as well as its efforts to improve the contribution it makes to meeting societal and community needs.

The INREV ESG Essentials online course gives you a fundamental understanding of this integral part of real estate  investing. This includes how the industry’s ESG efforts have evolved; how it is tackling decarbonisation; the emerging field of impact investing; and how the industry’s work is being shaped by the reporting and regulatory environments, including initiatives from INREV.

Mathieu Elshout, Head of Sustainability and Impact Investing at PATRIZIA, will lead the course, which is delivered through five on-demand eLearning modules. You complete these modules in your own time in an informative and interactive learning environment through videos, exercises, case studies and quizzes.

During the four weeks of the course, there is the opportunity to share your questions on the discussion board. In the second and final week, you attend a live Zoom session with the opportunity to question our guest industry experts, also giving you a chance to meet your fellow learners.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Module 1: Introduction to ESG
  • Module 2: Net zero pathways
  • Module 3: INREV Sustainability Guidelines
  • Module 4: ESG-related regulations
  • Module 5: Impact Investing

All course content needs to be completed within the four weeks the modules are open and participants need to attend the final live Zoom session in order to receive their official Certificate of Attendance.

Who should attend the course?

This course is targeted at younger professionals in the early years of their careers, or for those that are new to the non-listed real estate industry. ESG Essentials works as an excellent follow-on training from the INREV Foundation Course for those who want to explore ESG in more detail.

INREV also offers a 1.5-day Advanced ESG training course, specially designed for those professionals that already have a good understanding of ESG integration in the non-listed real estate industry. During this more strategic course, the emphasis will be on group discussions and case studies to allow participants to share their views.

Upon completion of the course participants will:

  • have a good overview of the evolution and priorities of ESG in the non-listed real estate industry;
  • understand how the industry is addressing and evaluating net zero pathways;
  • be able to identify and work with best practice sustainability guidelines;
  • be informed on the latest regulatory issues related to ESG;
  • have a good understanding of the emerging field of impact investing.
