Effective portfolio management is essential for investors in indirect real estate vehicles to achieve their strategic objectives and manage portfolios in line with evolving market conditions and return expectations. This one-day course provides a practical overview of the key considerations involved in managing indirect real estate portfolios.

This course explores how investors monitor portfolio performance, assess risks and opportunities, and make informed buy, hold, and sell decisions. Participants will also examine governance frameworks, operational management and reporting, liquidity considerations, and secondary market trades.
The course begins with a networking dinner on the evening of 16 September, followed by a full day of interactive sessions, discussions, and a case study exercise. The programme concludes with a panel discussion and Q&A featuring leading industry professionals.
The course will cover the following topics:
- How to monitor an existing portfolio
- Reporting and day-to-day operational management
- Buy, sell and hold processes
- Governance best practices
- Liquidity mechanisms and secondary trading
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the importance of active portfolio management for indirect real estate investments
- Gain insight into portfolio management from both the investor and investment manager perspective

This course is designed for professionals involved in managing or overseeing indirect real estate portfolios, including those working in portfolio management, investment management, fund management, and investor roles who are looking to strengthen their understanding of indirect real estate portfolio management.
Location
This course is open to INREV members and non-members and counts towards the INREV Academy Certificate for Non-listed Real Estate Investments. It is a mandatory course for the Portfolio Management stream and an elective course for the Corporate Finance stream.
