The Vehicle Universe grows at a record pace in 2021

The INREV Vehicle Universe features 543 vehicles with a total gross asset value of €436.1 billion, an increase of 17% from the 2020 Q4 publication.

• This is the biggest annual increase in total gross asset value of the Universe since 2005, driven mostly by an increase in average vehicle size as well as the inclusion of several big funds
• Since the Q3 2021 publication, 25 new vehicles were added to the Universe, whilst 10 liquidated vehicles were removed. The average size of a multi sector fund is about 1.5 times the size of the average single sector peer
• Funds launched in 2021 target a combined size of €7.6 billion, of which €2.0 billion (26%) has already been deployed in Q4 2021
