European ODCE Index turns negative for the first time since Q2 2020

The Q3 2022 European ODCE Index delivered a -1.28% total return, the weakest performance since the inception of the Index.

Key highlights:

  •  The Q3 2022 total return stood at -1.28%, a sharp decline compared to the 2.47% posted in Q2 2022. Capital growth plummeted to -1.77%, driving the overall decline in performance.
  • The European ODCE Fund Quarterly Index is growing. The gross asset value (GAV) reached €46.6 billion across the 16 participating funds at the end of Q3 2022.

The Index is wholly comprised of open end core commingled equity real estate funds that have a strategy to invest across pan Europe and across multiple sectors. Funds must comply with a strict eligibility criteria for four consecutive quarters in a row to be included in the index.
